Color Me Happy: Color, Mood, and Tone

This lesson introduces learners to the ways artists use color to set the tone of a painting or to convey a particular mood to the viewer. Students view "The Tragedy" by Pablo Picasso. They fill in an information chart describing the mood or tone of the painting. They discuss the ways certain colors often are used to convey a certain mood or feeling. This is the second of two lessons in this unit.

Lesson Planet has given me more time to teach and plan thoughtful lessons rather than spending that time scouring the Internet for resources and just throwing study guides at students!
