Colorful Convection Currents

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Use this demonstration to help your class understand convection currents. Learners put food coloring in bottles, one with hot and the other cold water, and see what happens. This is a terrific way to make this idea come alive. Once they see how the colors combine, they will have a better understanding of this concept.
