Don't Make that Baby Cry

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Students study the short "a" sound in words by examining the mouth movements made when making the sound. They practice making the sound by pretending they are making baby sounds. Next, they recite a tongue twister that contains a number of words containing the short "a" sound before they practice writing the letter. Next, they give a thumbs up each time they hear the sound while listening to a read aloud of "Cat's Nap." Finally, they complete an assessment worksheet.
