Double-the-Design Yarn Paintings!

Students cut yarn into several different lengths and fold paper in half, using skills for measuring and fractions. Then they use unconventional items (yarn) as tools to create mirror-image art and experience first-hand the math idea of doubles. Students also follow directions for the yarn-painting technique to complete their painting.

Sara C.
Lesson Planet has helped me differentiate my classroom as needed. I always find it easy to adapt work for struggling learners but find it more difficult to adapt work for higher level learners. By using lesson planet I get great ideas to create fun, challenging work for my higher level learners.
