App Overview

The easy-to-use tool lists foods on the left and physical activities on the right. Scroll through the foods and make a selection, then discover the amount of time required to burn the equivalent calories for any physical activity. Touch a double-arrow button and the app randomly selects foods and exercises for you. Each Eat and each Move choice offers a related tip that can help users to make healthier decisions regarding diet and exercise.

Instructional Ideas

Physical fitness classes of all ages will find this tool initially engaging and valuable. Open their eyes by having them keep a food journal for one day, and then tabulating how much time they would need to invest in different activities to balance out their calorie intake.

Classroom Considerations

There are no provisions for setting up user profiles or recording information discovered, so consider crafting a worksheet or data table for pupils to track calories in and calories out.

Pros

  • Colorful and attractive images
  • Easy to navigate

Cons

  • After tying the app for awhile, learners are likely to quickly lose interest
