Emily Carr's Trees

Students examine the work of artist Emily Carr.  In this watercolor lesson, students observe how to draw trees and to use crayon resistance.  Students also create a watercolor tree. 

In this tracing worksheet, students practice tracing a specific shape or line a number of times on the page. They do not practice writing it on their own.

Students discover the world of the Chinese dragon by creating their own festive dragon using texture, line, shape, pattern, and color. This lesson is ideal for the early-elementary classroom and includes a recommened reading list.

In this drawing worksheet, students copy a number of shapes and then practice drawing the shape in the box provided at the bottom of the worksheet.

Second graders study and experiment with rhythm and sound. In pairs, they practice reading and performing simple melodies from sheet music. Individually, they choose one piece to perform for the class.
