Empty Oceans

In groups of four, pupils brainstorm about seafood. They view the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch website to examine the problems caused by the seafood industry. Learners are then brought back together to discuss what they discovered. Finally, they gather information on the local fish market and write letters to encourage sustainability. This activity is straightforward in approach and outcomes. It includes suggestions for evaluation and extensions, as well as many resource links.

I just transferred mid-year to an art teacher position; it has been more than 15 years since I taught art. I needed some quick ideas to get started. Thank you Lesson Planet!
