If only we could harness the energy of fifth graders, our energy problems would be over! The class discusses where different forms of energy come from and how we use them. They complete a chart of the activities that they do daily that require energy, considering also ho they might reduce the carbon footprint of each. While the author states that the lesson could be used from third through twelfth grades, it would probably be most fitting for upper-elementary environmentalists. Consider collecting recyclables or having individuals bring objects in that can be reused in an art project!
