When you take a simple task and create an exceptionally difficult way to complete it, it is known as a Rube Goldberg machine. These machines are filled with many types of energy transfers and energy transformations. Here, pupils watch and analyze a Rube Goldberg machine and fill out a diagram for analysis. Next they create a small machine taking note of all the energy transfers and transformations, and then wrap up by designing the blueprint for a larger, more complicated machine.
