Ethical Decision Making Model-Dealing with Genetic Disorders

In groups, learners read a case study of a couple who produced a child with hemophilia. Although tthe reading breifly mentions how a hemophiliac child is produced, the focus of this lesson is the ethical implications. This lesson is more appropriate as a sociology topic rather than a biology lesson. The accompanying questions are thought-provoking and would spark an engaging discussion.

I have been able to find a variety of resources to meet a variety of needs. As a special ed teacher I need to continually find new ways of presenting the material and Lesson Planet always has many great ideas that have worked wonderfully in my classroom. It's especially great when I need to make a last minute change to a lesson!
