Visit 19th century Grand Isle, Cheniere Caminada, and New Orleans! Meet the inhabitants, learn about their history and culture, and view landmarks and industries! After reading Kate Chopin’s The Awakening, class groups research the novel’s settings and the changes that have taken place since 1900. They prepare a PowerPoint presentation and create travel brochures about one of the settings. The class then votes on the most interesting place to visit and is treated to a Cajun feast.
