Factors Which Affect Corrosion

Students investigate the factors which affect corrosion. In this corrosion lesson plan, students experiment with 2 nails, copper wire and magnesium ribbon placed in a petri dish of agar solution, potassium ferricyanate and an indicator. They observe the changes the next day and look for oxidation or reduction that has taken place. They also experiment with steel wool in various conditions and look for evidence of rusting and oxidation.
