Family Interviews: The Grandparent/Elder Project

Learners explore key concepts/facts in 20th Century history, develop interview questions, and produce master list of questions that can be used in project. Students then interview grandparent, great-grandparent, or other elder about his/her life experiences prior to 1950. Learners tape interviews, give summaries of their feature article based on interviews, and create web sites to showcase their articles.

My students have had many opportunities to extend their learning by engaging in extra practice activities that I found through Lesson Planet. It's much easier to differentiate instruction because I can pull together various levels of the same skill. Thanks for making my life a little less hectic.
