Instructional Ideas

  • So that every student can have access to this game, make enough sets for a small group and put together stations in your classroom
  • Use this activity during a unit on fire safety; pupils can spell out words like fire and engine on their boards during a lesson

Classroom Considerations

  • As mentioned in the resource, you will need 26 clothespins per child as well as permanent markers and zippered plastic bags in order to prepare and play this game
  • Instructions for how to play the game aren't actually included; however, it's fairly clear that pupils are meant to match their clothespins to the letters on the game board

Pros

  • The fire truck image on the game board is very cute
  • Provides directions for how to prepare the game
  • Combines learning the alphabet with fine motor skills

Cons

  • None
