Fly, Fly Away

Students use materials from their own environment to design a kite. For this kite design lesson, students research the history of kites and obtain a formal mathematical definition of a kite. Students sketch kite designs after discovering what aspects of design are important to make a kite fly. Students build their kites and experiment with flying them, then write a paper about the experience.

Lesson Planet has helped me find lessons that add to my curriculum. It is also a great website to use when one needs to search for certain topics and how to introduce those topics, it also gives a lot of options for varied learners.
