Frog Principal Lesson Plan

Students read the fractured fairy tale, The Frog Principal by Stephanie Calmenson and compare it to the original version in order to gain deeper understanding of the fairy tale genre. In this fairy tale lesson, students identify and discuss original versions of fairy tales, then read the classic and its parody, making lists of three ways the two stories are similar and different. Lastly, students select a favorite tale and write their own fractured version of it.

I was at a crossroads trying to think of a new… interesting… active way to introduce and teach the different types of economic systems. I turned to Lesson Planet and entered “Economic Systems” into the search tab and was inundated with resources and lesson plans and ideas… the kids loved the lesson I modified for them and still ask when we are going to do another lesson like that “Paper Airplane Company” one. Thanks Lesson Planet.
