Fruit or Vegetable?

Watermelon is a vegetable? A tomato is a fruit? Believe it or not, this debate is decades old. Groups examine rulings by the US Supreme Court, the USDA, and state statutes before developing their own criteria to use when labeling the products of plants as either fruits or vegetables. Each team explores, analyzes, and experiments with a variety of fruits and vegetables to categorize each one and then present their rationale to the entire class.

Donna S.
After 28 years of teaching English, I signed up to teach grade nine art. My school only has 15 teachers and the students were losing out on opportunities to explore their creativity. Having access to the lessons on Lesson Planet has helped me to cover the curriculum while having fun with all the different ways of teaching the subject. To say this site is a blessing is an understatement!
