Fun with Electromagnets

Junior scientists work in groups to construct electromagnets. They experiment by varying number of wraps around the nail, the diameter of the nail, and the type of metal the nail is made of to see if any of these factors has an effect on magnetic strength. Consider having learners draw data tables for the experiment and writing a conclusion of what they learn.

Lesson Planet does a great job in matching appropriate resources with the lessons I am trying to find. I need things that will make learning real, but at the same time, fun and interesting, and I can always count on Lesson Planet to provide that.
