Grrrrr, gargoyles are on the loose! Young artists are familiarized with the history of gargoyles, examine pictures of them, and hear a story about them. Then, they draw a gargoyle and write down exactly how they did it (procedural writing). After that, they'll write description of their drawing that is so detailed that a peer will be able to use their paragraph to draw an identical creature. Note: The instructional activity focuses on the concept of original and replica as well as details in writing.
