Genetic issues, inherited diseases, and genetic engineering are hot topics in scientific fields and provide an opportunity for young scientists to develop their research and presentation skills. Each class member chooses a topic, locates and assesses sources, organizes the information, and prepares a PowerPoint of their findings. A list of possible topics, project expectations, and a scoring rubric are included in the resource.
