Girls Are Drinking Like Boys

Curated by ACT

A 2002 study revealed that teen girls drink nearly as much as their male counterparts, "closing a generations-old gender gap." Learn about the study's findings and statistics, discuss teen drinking with the help of questions provided, and take part in a survey activity in which participants answer questions: "Do you think teenage girls are more, less or as likely to try alcohol as teenage boys?" "Should parents be held legally responsible for teen drinking?" "Are tougher underage drinking laws needed in your state?" "Are underage drinkers likely to become problem drinkers as adults?"
