This site is a nice biography of Alberto Fujimori from his earliest life to 2004. He became the president of Peru in 1990 and helped to rid Peru of the "Shining Path." However, his rule was marked by massive corruption and he was forced to flee to Japan. He has been accused of operating "death squads," in Peru.
