Graph a Piecewise Defined Function (Example 1)

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Determine what the pieces look like together. The Mathispower4u video for Algebra 1 provides a simple example of graphing a piecewise function. The function is made up of three segments that consist of constant functions. Pupils see how to graph the piecewise function by graphing each function separately and then only keeping the section needed as defined by the domain for each segment.
