Study heart health and math in one activity. After measuring their resting heart rates by finding the pulse in their wrists, learners build a stethoscope to listen to their heart rate, and note the differences between the two methods.

Instructional Ideas
  • Partner your class up and have them take turns measuring heartbeats, after they work together to build the stethoscope
  • Have learners compare their heartbeats after completing various activities, such as walking a lap or doing jumping jacks
