History of English

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Providing both a history of English before England (Sino-Tibetan, Finno-Ugric, Hamido-Semitic, Indo-European) and a history of English in England, this presentation includes charts and many examples of the changes in the English language throughout its history. Many topical anecdotes break up the lecture favorably. The presentation also includes links to Youtube videos about the history of English, as well as the history of five religions (each video is approximately two minutes long).
