Eighth graders use their understanding of buoyancy to understand the horrible effect of the Exxon Valdez oil spill. Students perform an experiment where they combine three unnatural liquids, and then they are asked various questions to ensure understanding of the experiment. Students create a venn diagram to represent their findings. Each student presents their information and explains their rationale.
