"Humor" Afro-American Symphony (Third Movement)

A fun way for young learners to explore music and their personal reaction to it, this worksheet includes a short reading passage about musician William Grant Still, a word scramble, a matching activity and two short writing prompts. Some of the activities are designed to be complete while listening to Still's "Humor" from his Afro-American Symphony. The final activity outlines a creative writing/drawing activity that incorporates multiple learning styles and fosters criticial thinking.

Lesson Planet has changed my whole teaching style. I am able to customize my lesson plans for relevance not by what is already available. I like the relevance to issues facing today's youth.
