I Can Locate and Classify Information About a Topic

After reading a text, ask your pupils to recall and organize what they've just learned into a blank three-column chart. Class members write the topic and fill in the columns with information. The sheet also prompts students to write a longer piece about the topic, but there is not much other instruction for that portion.

Instructional Ideas

  • Have individuals come up with their own topics and categorize the information in a way that makes sense to them
  • Provide categories to help your class get started
  • Require learners to put at least three items in each column and share out to the class after independent work
