Young children can learn quite a bit by imitating. And here is a simple instructional activity that allows them to do just that by playing some follow-the-leader games. First, they all sit on the floor and imitate the way you slap your thighs and clap your hands. They repeat the patterns you set. Then, they play a mirror-me game with each other. They sit facing each other and one person is the leader while the other follows. This instructional activity is based on the Arthur episode: "D.W. the Copycat."
