Making money in a company is challenging, as scholars discover in this clip on the introductory income statement. Sal explains this and lays out a scenario showing a company's various revenue subtractions to get the money paid to owners. He incorporates variable and fixed costs to get the gross profit and subtracts the operating profit, pre-tax profit, and net income. Learners view a simple balance sheet and explore the return on assets ratio and a return on equity percentage.
