From hat and hut to rat and cat, youngsters review consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words that end in the letter t. They first cut out and paste provided images, and then categorize them based on their end sound (i.e. /at/ /et/ /ot/ and /ut/).

- As an extension, have youngsters draw images of other words with similar endings, as well as write the words beneath their drawings
- Review each image with your class to clarify what they are looking at
- Consider having them further distinguish between the word ending categories so they keep their columns organized
