Henoch-Schonlein (also known as anaphylactorial purpura) is a type of vasculitis that affects small blood vessels and characterized by elevated immunoglobulin A (lgA). Symptoms of this disease include skin legions, joint pain, blood in urine (hematurea), and abdominal pain. Health professionals diagnose Henoch-Schonlein purpura through blood tests (elevated IgA). This disease is often treated with steroids.
