Lesson 5: The Journey Becomes Larger Than Life!

Many muralists throughout history have focused on using their art to represent aspects of their culture or community. After thoroughly researching several muralists, budding artists will create a larger than life mural that contains visual representations of the plants, animals, and people common to their area. The lesson is broken into ten 50-minute sessions, each session contains its own set of objectives and instructions. Make history come to life with a community-based mural project.

I love Lesson Planet because it connects me to great websites that have a wealth of information for myself and students. For example, I recently found two great history websites that have a huge amount of pictures--a great place for my foreign language students who need visual aids to comprehend American history. I love Lesson Planet because the lessons are often easy to adapt for a variety of learners.
