In this crystals lesson plan, students review solids, make patterns with Styrofoam balls, make crystals in the lab and observe their patterns, and make crystal systems using the patterns for the 6 crystal systems. Middle schoolers observe crystals in rocks and classify samples as rocks or minerals.
