They say that a dog is a man's best friend. Why is that? Discuss with your class why people like pets and the responsibilities with owning one. They read an article about pet behavior and write a short essay comparing one of their behaviors to a similar human behavior. Several website links are embedded in the lesson plan for learners to read and answer questions about. That's about it. Perhaps you could use this lesson as an enhancement or extra credit assignment when studying biodiversity or behavioral adaptations.
