The Basics of Journalism: A Little Preview

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Students define journalism and identify the basic components of a news story. For this journalism basics lesson, students define the word journalism, read a new story, and break it into parts with two major characteristics for each section. Students work in partners to identify the basics in another article and compare their findings. Students visit the cafeteria to find an angle for a lunch article and write the article.
