The Vernor's Lesson

Young scholars review list of statements pertaining to United States History, and determine whether statements happened during the Civil War, after the Civil War, or had no connection to War. Students then speculate about connection between Vernor's Ginger Ale and Civil War, and write letter to family member from perspective of Civil War survivor describing triumphs and tragedies of Civil War.

I train teachers pre-K-12 to use the arts to teach any subject (arts integration). Lesson Planet has given me some great ideas to share as we all attempt to make the arts an important part of every child's education.
