Youngsters examine four sets of familiar images, circling the one that is short and underlining the one that is long. This is likely best done 1:1 with kids or as a big class, projecting the image for everyone to see.

- Once kids have completed this worksheet, have them turn it over and draw pictures of things they can see that have longer and shorter versions (markers, paper, rugs, windows)
- The objective here is intended to teach the vocabulary words long and short. Comparing lengths is an easy jump to make, but will require the vocabulary to be expanded to include longer and shorter
- Images are easily recognizable and clear
- Kids get practice underlining and circling as well as determining which object is long and which is short
