LRO and the Apollo-11 Landing Site

In this Apollo-11 landing site learning exercise, students read about the NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) that will collect images at a higher resolution than ever before. Students study a grid showing the lunar landing site from Apollo 11 and solve 3 problems. They find the scale of the figure, they draw an overlay to show pixels of the diagram and they determine if the LRO will be able to identify specific details on the lunar surface.
