Middle schoolers listen to four styles of Mexican music, and create percussion instruments which they use to play each style. Additionally, learners create Lucha Libre masks which are also a part of the colorful culture of Mexico. These instruments are made: egg shakers, balloon drums, straw oboes, tube kazoos, and plate rattles. There aren't any examples embedded in the plan, but there are some fine photographs of the Lucha Libre masks to give the teacher insight. A fiesta is held as a final activity in which the instruments are played and the masks are displayed.
