Marbles and Momentum

Students examine the law of conservation of momentum. For this physics lesson, students play marbles in order to compare the mass of the marble and velocities effects. Students receive directions of the marbles game and collect data while playing marbles of how the varied mass of marbles effects each other. Students discuss in small groups the effect of small marbles onto large marbles.

Lesson Planet has transformed they way I teach. When I finally admitted that it was ok to utilize the knowledge of other teachers and began adopting these lesson plans the time I saved and excitement I felt energized my classroom.
