High schoolers, after viewing the painting 'Last Moments of John Brown' (1884), evaluate John Brown and his raid of saint or sinner, slavery issues and the West. They explore how art can influence history and history influence art in unique ways over time. In addition, they write an analysis of the facts, painting, and poetry about the raid.
