NASA is interested in clouds because they are an integral part of the water cycle, and because they are a controlling factor in the energy budget of the Earth. This chart provides a basic introduction to the identification of clouds. The reverse contains a much more detailed cloud chart from NOAA's National Weather Service. The cloud chart is intended for printing at 11 by 17 inch size. A Spanish Version of the cloud chart is also available (http://science-edu.larc.nasa.gov/cloud_chart/PDFs/Cloudchart_ESP.pdf).
