Number Lines and Whole Numbers

Use number lines to visually represent addition and subtraction equations. First, scholars complete an addition number sentence and represent the equation on a number line. Next, they examine a number line and write the corresponding equation. Finally, learners complete a subtraction equation, drawing it onto a third number line. They work with double-digit numbers in this one. For older learners, this would make a great introduction to negative numbers.
