They are able to place in order the event leading to the outbreak of war and describe the soldiers arrival in the trenches. Students are able to describe the duties the soldiers had each day, and write a letter home describing life at the front that pass the censors. They correctly identify the major components of the trench, and describe the three major health risks involved with trench warfare.
