Rules may carry a negative connotation with many adolescents, but this simulation activity reminds them of the importance of a fair and consistent set of laws. It's very simple: pupils are arranged in rows, with the first person in each given 5 paperclips and told to begin. As rows begin guessing the point of the game, start giving rules one at a time, some fair and others not. Discuss a need in society for fair laws to avoid chaos and confusion. Adjust game as desired.
