Young environmentalists study the effects that pesticides have on birds, such as the peregrine falcon. They also look at predator/prey interactions. Some wonderful in-class activities accompany an inventive lesson. After an activity that demonstrates why pesticides are used in the first place, groups of pupils attempt to come up with ways that pesticides could be used in ways that aren't as harmful as they have been in the past.
