Perspectives on Peace

Much like a garden, once the seeds of peace are planted, they need to be tended! How can humankind make and keep peace? The second installment in a series of 15 peacebuilding activities focuses on different perceptions of peace. The lesson plan uses group discussion and a creative collage to explore individuals' definitions of peace.

  • As part of their collages, have groups locate a proverb about peace and incorporate it into their work
  • Have the class create their own peace symbol that ties in with their own definitions of peace
Classroom Considerations

  • Make sure you have enough newspapers/magazines, construction paper, and glue for groups to complete their collages
