Third graders discuss prior knowledge about trading or borrowing for subtraction. They use base ten blocks to model subtraction and place values up to 100. Students are introduced to the thousandths cube. They play a game called "Roll the Highest Number." Students use the computer and the Math Keys software to play the game with a partner.
