Power of the People

Young scholars determine the meaning of democracy and investigate accomplishments of a number of United States presidents. They look at images of the presidential one dollar coins before they determine how the job of the president differs from that of a king. Next they research presidential facts, participate in a democratic vote, and make a presentation which is assessed on a rubric.

Lesson Planet helps me with finding lesson plans that work. As a student teacher, my professors have told me not to try and recreate the wheel, use what is out there that works! Lesson Planet helps me to find ideas that I can tweak so they follow our state standards.
